Just a few days ago the Bangladeshi players and the fans were found enjoying themselves defeating the Indian cricket team, as it was just a dream come true winning an ODI series versus India. But, this joy was for a limited period and the Indian team bounced back on the Test series resulting in a whitewash. The test series has been high voltage from the very beginning involving the Indian pacer Mohammad Siraj and the ODI captain for Bangladesh Liton Das but the duel did not last too long as the batsman had fallen in the trap resulting dismissal of his wicket.
India defeated Bangladesh by 188 runs in Chittagong to take a 1-0 lead in their two-Test series, with the hosts being bowled out for 324 on the final day of play on Sunday. Bangladesh began their second innings with a score of 272-6 from the previous innings, but Mehidy Hasan Miraz (age 13) was quickly dismissed by Mohammed Siraj. After Kuldeep Yadav hit the middle stump while Shakib attempted an aerial stroke, his entertaining innings of 84 runs, which included six fours and six sixes, came to an end. Following Kuldeep’s dismissal of Ebadot Hossain for a duck, Axar Patel knocked out Taijul Islam for the same total, finishing with 4-77 in the second innings.
Followed by the first test match the second was scheduled at the Sher e Bangla stadium in Dhaka. Both teams approached the match with a positive mindset of making a mark in the series and thus the match was about to be played hard by both teams.

Bangladesh scored 227 and India 314 in the opening inning. India needed only 145 runs to win the match after the Tigers could only add 231 in the second. But from the game’s outset, the Men in Blue had problems and there was a ray of hope for the team led by Shakib ul Hassan. They lost the first four wickets on day three for just 45 runs. Mehidy Hasan took five wickets for Bangladesh, conceding just 36 runs in the opening 15 overs. Two wickets were taken by captain Shakib Al Hasan in quick succession which turned out to be a false ray of hope for the bowling team. Finally, the match ended with a splendid performance from Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer.
In the two-match Test series, this was the second game and by winning the opening game, India took a 2-0 series lead and resulting in a crushing defeat. This has brought India yet another step closer to the world test championship finale.
