When the question arises of who can piss off the patience of the bowlers, there is only one answer and it is no other than ‘Mr. Dependable’.  From getting applauded by the crowd for scoring a run in a test match, Rahul Dravid was always a special person on the pitch. On his birthday let us recall Rahul Dravid the former captain of the Indian cricket team.

Rahul Dravid is a former Indian cricketer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the history of cricket. Dravid is known for his technical proficiency, as well as his ability to play under pressure, and his leadership skills. Dravid began his international cricket career in 1996, representing India in Test matches and One Day Internationals (ODIs). He was known for his calm and composed approach to batting, earning him the nickname “The Wall”. He has scored over 13,000 runs in Test cricket, making him one of the highest run-scorers in the format, and also took 36 catches as a wicketkeeper.

In limited-overs cricket, Dravid has scored over 10,000 runs in ODI, his century in the 1999 world cup semi-final made him the first player to score a century in his first world cup match. Dravid also served as the captain of the Indian cricket team, leading the team in several Test series and ODIs, and was known for his aggressive and innovative captaincy. After retiring from cricket in 2012, Dravid has been involved in coaching and mentoring young cricketers molding the future of Indian cricket responsibly. Now Mr. Dependable has been appointed as the Head coach of the Indian cricket team.
