Tesla shares sold worth millions after he says, ‘shares wont be sold further’

Only a few months after saying he wouldn’t sell any more Tesla stock, Elon Musk sold 7.92 million shares of Tesla. Elon Musk sold a significant amount of shares, valued at $6.73 billion at Tuesday’s closing price, according to the electric car manufacturing giant’s regulatory filings. The share price of Tesla has fallen by about 30% so far this year, and it currently trades at $850. Now Elon Musk declared that he would buy Twitter for $44 billion, a proposal he has since walked away from, and shares of the electric car manufacturer have fallen.

Elon Musk sold Tesla stock in August, according to SEC filings from the business. According to sources, the sale took place between August 5 and August 9. Surprisingly, the annual shareholder meeting for Tesla took place on August 4. After Elon Musk declared he has no plans to sell any more Tesla stock, shares of the company were sold. Elon Musk responded to a Twitter user on April 29 by saying, “No additional TSLA sales planned after today.” 

According to Bloomberg, Elon Musk, the world’s richest man, has sold Tesla shares worth almost $32 billion since November of last year. Musk launched the sale by polling his followers on Twitter about whether or not to sell his company’s stock.
