Despite prior reports that the next-generation iPhone SE 4 was canceled, Apple expert Ming Chi-Kuo recently indicated that the smartphone’s development is well advanced. Kuo had earlier said that its work had been halted after the previous year. But, Kuo’s most recent tweet was excellent news for those looking to get an iPhone on the cheap, since the iPhone SE 4 is now in development and is expected to be released in 2024 with some amazing features.
Typically, Samsung and LG supply OLED screens for iPhones, but both companies may struggle to compete with the iPhone 15 series when it appears later this year. According to The Elec, the low-end iPhone SE4, which is expected to be released next year, would sport a 6.1-inch organic light emitting diode (OLED) display.
Although the iPhone SE series has only ever had a liquid crystal display (LCD), the model coming the following year will most likely have an OLED. (translated) The iPhone SE 4 is expected to include a 6.1-inch LCD-to-OLED display upgrade that will result in brighter colours and deeper blacks.
In terms of look, the iPhone SE 4 appears to be slightly different from the iPhone 14. With this update, the iPhone SE would see its first substantial design change in two generations. Apple announced the iPhone SE 3 early in 2022, which was essentially the same as the iPhone SE 2nd Gen but with a newer A15 Bionic Processor and a somewhat larger battery. In addition, the iPhone SE 4 will, according to Kuo, employ a 5G modem developed on an Apple-designed 4-nanometer manufacturing node rather than Qualcomm’s modem chips.
