The Indian woman cricket team has missed the gold medal just by 9 runs and bags the silver medal in their names. This summer the Indians have been one of the major attractions in the Commonwealth Games.

Birmingham has witnessed the final stage of women’s cricket where the Indian cricket time fell just short of 9 runs ahead of the Australian cricket team. The Indian women’s T20 squad were planning to relive 1983 at Edgbaston. The Indian squad had a wonderful run in the Commonwealth Games and fixed a position for themselves, even though the final hurdle could not be crossed. The Aussies had managed to set up a total of 161 runs for 8 wickets and it seemed an easy chase for the Indian squad. Even though Harmanpreet Kaur and Jemina Rodrigues tried to steer the team towards victory but failed to do so. Leading to yet another runners-up spot, this time at Edgbaston in the Commonwealth series.
